We will not be silenced
Last week, I received anonymous feedback that my posts about fertility and single motherhood don’t belong on LinkedIn.
Anonymous feedback is easy.
An open conversation is harder—but far more valuable.
Here’s why topics like fertility, miscarriage, IVF, and motherhood belong on LinkedIn:
These are not fringe issues.
They are realities that ambitious, career-driven women navigate every day.
They affect:
🫶 our work.
🫶 our productivity
🫶 our decision-making
🫶 our sense of identity and wellbeing.
So why should these topics be off-limits on the world’s largest professional platform?
Since this is a business platform, let’s look at it through a business lens.
The global fertility market is estimated at $40-50B today, projected to reach $87B by 2034.
The workforce supporting this ecosystem is estimated between 500,000-1.5 million people—hundreds of thousands of whom are on LinkedIn.
This is business. 𝗕𝗜𝗚 𝗕𝗨𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗦.
But it’s also deeply human.
And that’s exactly the point.
We talk openly about leadership, burnout, layoffs, mental health, and workplace culture because they impact performance and outcomes.
If fertility, miscarriage, and motherhood don’t belong on LinkedIn…then we’re ignoring some of the most important decisions working women will ever make.
Choosing not to engage with these conversations is personal preference, and I respect that.
Trying to shut them down is something else entirely.
Because women are carrying these decisions, these treatments, and this heartbreak every single day—often in silence.
𝗦𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹—𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲.
With more open dialogue, we can help the next generation of women:
💪 Ask better questions earlier
💪 Make more informed decisions
💪 Align their careers and family goals more intentionally.
That's true female empowerment. That’s my mission.
It’s not just good for professionals.
It’s good for workplaces.
Which means it’s good for business.
That’s why I will continue talking about these issues on LinkedIn.
What do you think? Are these conversations important for career women to see on LinkedIn?
