Walk of Hope: Catching your dream of motherhood
Sometimes our biggest dreams don’t come easily…we have to pursue and catch them.
Yesterday, I walked with over a hundred people who know this truth intimately.
On October 26th, I was honored to participate in the Walk of Hope, organized by RESOLVE, to raise awareness about the infertility epidemic.
Scores of people were there—women, men, children, even pets—from all walks of life.
𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿, 𝘄𝗲 𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵: 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗶𝘅 𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱𝘄𝗶𝗱𝗲.
Here’s what everyone needs to know:
💔 Infertility is a medical condition, not a moral judgment.
💔 Infertility doesn’t discriminate—it affects both genders, all races, and all backgrounds
💔 Infertility deserves support—not shame.
As I walked alongside new friends, including Danielle Melfi, RESOLVE's new CEO and Lana Manikowski , I felt the weight of this struggle.
𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗜 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘁 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁...𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗲.
From my own 10-year battle with infertility, I know firsthand that where there is courage, love, and perseverance, anything is possible.
I chose to wear a shirt with a Dreamcatcher on it for a specific reason.
In Native American culture, the Dreamcatcher filters out negativity while protecting the goodness that’s meant for us.
The web represents life's pathways—full of twists, impossible intersections, heartbreak, and hope. It's a reminder that our dreams are worth protecting, even when the path forward feels uncertain.
For those of us who experience infertility, the dream of motherhood can feel fragile. Fear, doubt, judgment, and grief try to cloud it.
But when the traditional path isn't available, we must summon the strength to pursue—and catch—our dream another way.
When the traditional path to motherhood closed for me, I had to find the courage to catch my dream another way—through IVF and single motherhood by choice. It wasn't the path I'd imagined, but it was the path that led me to my daughter and my son.
That's the message I want every woman walking this road to hold closely:
💝 Your dream of motherhood is worth protecting.
💝 Your path may look different than you imagined—and that's okay.
💝 Your dream can still come true.
Yesterday, I walked in solidarity with every brave woman on this journey.
And I will continue walking with you through Cheri’s Choice, helping you navigate your path —no matter how winding —to family, fulfillment, and love.
Keep protecting your dream and connect with those who will walk with you.
I can’t wait to help you catch it!
