I’ve never felt so naked
Ever felt so vulnerable that it’s like you’re standing naked in a crowd?
That’s exactly how I feel every single time someone picks up my book.
Because when I wrote Mission: Motherhood, I didn’t hold anything back. I laid out the brutal truths of my journey to motherhood in the most raw, transparent, and honest way I knew how.
Sometimes I wonder: Did I overshare? 😊
Maybe. But it was the only way I knew to give women an unvarnished view of infertility—and, hopefully, spare someone else the mistakes I made.
It’s not just about feeling exposed. Every time a new reader picks up my book, I find myself holding my breath, wondering:
Will they understand?
I wrote Mission: Motherhood like an intimate conversation between two close girlfriends who know the ache of childlessness. But what about those who haven’t lived this pain? Will my story still resonate?
That’s why I was nervous to see how the message and intention of Mission: Motherhood landed when BookLife (part of Publishers Weekly) reviewed it.
And then I was relieved.
Here’s what the reviewer said:
“Gutsy, honest, and undeniably human from start to finish…”
“She captures (the urgency of becoming a mother) in her brisk, touching storytelling, charged with feeling, insights, and lessons learned.”
“Bergeron is refreshingly frank about her own flaws, but what shines through this unfiltered story of growth is her resilience and love.”

Society warns us that sharing such vulnerability is foolish.
I say it’s freeing.
If Mission: Motherhood does anything, I hope it reminds women this: Our greatest power often shows up in our most vulnerable moments.
P.S. If you haven’t had a chance to pick up a copy yet, I’d be truly honored for you to read it. And if it resonates, I’d love to hear your thoughts—your feedback means the world to me.
Why else would I be standing here naked?
