I have been changed for good

I have been changed for good.

No, this isn't a commercial for 𝙒𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙙 (although I'm way more excited about the release of Part 2 than I am about eating turkey).

The other night, I listened to the iconic song "For Good," by Stephen Schwartz, and the lyrics hit me differently.

Maybe it's because the movie release and Thanksgiving are arriving together—both reminders of gratitude and transformation.

The song is about how people change us. How even our most difficult experiences shape who we become through the people we meet.

My 10-year battle with infertility was like that. It was brutal. Painful. Heartbreaking. Costly.

But today, when I look into my children's eyes, I know it was all worth it.

Of course, I'm eternally thankful for my children. But today, I want to honor the people who helped me get here—the ones who changed me for good.

The medical team who made the impossible possible:
♥️ thomas vaughn, Dr. Kaylen Silverberg, and the entire team at Texas Fertility Center—true pioneers who brought expertise, technology, and compassion to one of the hardest chapters of my life.
♥️ Dr. Tara Mills and Dr. Annette McCormick, who guided me through high-risk pregnancies and 40-days in the NICU.

The therapists who helped me and my family recover and find courage again:
♥️ J. Worth Kilcrease, who helped me heal after child loss
♥️ Bryan Duncan, who gave voice to my son’s truth.
♥️ Wendy Byrd, who helped me reclaim wholeness after years of trauma.
♥️ Loretta Maase, who continues to guide me in being the best mother I can be.

The legal advocate who fought for my rights and my family:
♥️ James Evans, who stood beside me during my complex divorce and helped protect my reproductive rights and my son.

The professionals who helped me share my story and reach others:
♥️ Amanda Hoppe, who collaborated with me to put my story into words.
♥️ Jason Meeker and Kelly Teemer-Altemara, who helped me share that story with the world.
♥️ Hussein Al-Baiaty, who taught me how to be an authorpreneur and reach others walking similar paths.

All I can say is 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗬𝗼𝘂 from the bottom of my heart. You've meant more to me than words can express. I wouldn’t have my family or my mission without you.

Even in our hardest seasons, we are never alone. There are people around us—sometimes unexpected—who help us defy gravity and rise even in the most difficult of circumstances.

The song reminds us that the people who help us through our hardest times leave handprints on our hearts. They change us permanently, for the better.

💚 "Because I knew you, I have been changed for good."

Who are some of the people who have changed your life for the better?
